i really dislike those pictures of people holding up a piece of paper with stuff like ‘PLEASE DON’T KILL YOURSELF TONIGHT.’ or similar to that message.

honestly, you think that’s going to stop a person, sure it might show someone cares, and sure might stop someone.

but overall, they just seem like the type of ‘oh this will get me a lot of notes on tumblr.’ 

none of them seem very heartfelt and they do care.

but i could be wrong.

You have a point. I hate to say it, but it wouldn’t have stopped me doing it. That’s why I never post anything when I’m feeling suicidal. However, I tend to reblog it just in case it might help someone. I’ve been in that position. Sometimes it helps to know someone gives a damn.
