Hi. ^_^
I can’t find my first response to your first question. ^^; Is there a way to view all the messages as a thread? Are they archived?
I had no idea what they’d do for the opening. I was totally fine with 2D again, because I wanted to 2D again in some way, but I just loved they went with another different animation style for the opener, one I’m pretty sure that’s seen even less than 2D. And ohman, the Oogway cameo, so sweet.
Yes, I love her last line to him, because it does say all that, so much—but it also makes me kinda tear up, especially when you can hear the sadness in her voice.
Thanks for that fandom help. :)
I think there should be room for unconventional pairings for anyone who’d want to read them, like with your friends. In the “The Art of Kung Fu Panda 2” book, I saw an interesting sketch by Nico Marlet that looked like a younger Soothsayer, and my head just went straight to time travel and Shen having his brain broke by seeing his younger Nanny. XD But it could maybe turned shipping with AU background that she was never his nanny, and thus there’s just no motherly relationship going on. Or another AU where you just age her down to his peer. *shrug* Either way, if you want to write the fic and you have friends who’d be interested, go for it. I’ll admit it sounds better when you remove the nanny aspect from your shipping of course. Me, I just saw the chemistry I think the creators were shooting for, because when I read afterward the concept that she was his nanny it just made everything about their interaction click for me. I dunno, they were my new Tai Lung and Shifu in the movie, since, of course, there wasn’t that same exact Shifu and Tai Lung dynamic, what with Tai Lung being gone. I felt Shen and the Soothsayer paralleled Tai Lung and Shifu, but they had their own twists, i.e. Tai Lung strikes Shifu, but Shen never physically hurts the Soothsayer and actually frees her (so interestingly Shen and her seemed to have parted on better terms than Tai Lung and Shifu). However, you can totally take advantage of onscreen canon vs. supplementary materials—it’s never said onscreen that the Soothsayer is his nanny. It’s heavily implied, but never outright said, and you could take the implication another way, as you actually did.
