Katara: You really want to know? Hmm, maybe you could re-conquer (Ba Sing Se in the name of the Earth King. Or, I know. You could bring my mother back.

She was such a BITCH during this part, LOL. My dislike of her grew 10 times because of this but it didn’t make me feel pity for Zuko (maybe a LITTLE, I guess) since he did betray her, but at the same time, lol it’s not entirely his fault. Just because he’s fucking Fire Nation. Whatever. Funny how a lot thought this was love, though. lmfao oh ok. Translation: “I RLY LOVE U ZUKO DAZ Y I’M ASKING U TO BRING MY MOM BACK”

Are… you serious.

Like, she calls him out on helping to CONQUER A CITY, which in turn is something which will aid the Fire Nation in colonizing the entire Earth Kingdom as a part of a long, bloody war, and she calls him out on supporting and aiding that war when that war is what killed her mother, and you think she’s a “bitch” (ew gendered slurs) because… it somehow… ‘wasn’t his fault’.

Yes, it was. He chose it. It doesn’t make him some reprehensible monster, it makes him a flawed person who fucked up, but you know what? The girl he’s followed halfway around the fricking world attacking and hurting and threatening, and who has been personally betrayed by him- you know, when he conquered that city- isn’t obligated to sit down and act nice to him about it.

It’s not that he’s Fire Nation. It’s that he’s, you know, the prince of the Fire Nation who spent the last two and a half series supporting the Fire Nation in their goal.

Katara isn’t the audience. She doesn’t see what the audience sees. Every time she’s seen Zuko, he has acted awfully towards her, her family, her friends. He has been supporting a war that has defined her entire life. And because she doesn’t immediately act nice towards him, because she makes him accountable for doing all that, she’s a ‘bitch’?

Nice, fandom, very nice.

Agree with ayries, but just to point out—I love Katara’s expressions here, wonderful job creative team.
