I am so sorry.

obfuscobble:

I just realised that my “what transformers fans want” post may have been a bit Patriarchy-y or otherwise sexist.  I want to apologise.  If there’s one thing that should be clear reading my blog, it’s that I am against sexism and racism.  I don’t always get how I express myself right, but I like to think that the fact that I’m aware and looking out for when I get stuff wrong forgives the wrongdoings somewhat.

That said, there is a divide in the Transformers fandom, but it’s not male/female, and it’s not an either/or for every fan.  I really do think there’s a sizeable difference between one group of fans who engage with the franchise primarily through toys, and another group that engages with it primarily through media.  And I’d love to explore these differences.

A media and toy divide sounds interesting to explore.

And I’d say no worries, you did have a disclaimer about stereotypes being used for humor.  I’ve been wondering about lines and such—like, your thing cracked me up, even though I knew some stuff wasn’t personally true for me; actually, it became more hilarious when I saw the actual conflict between the stereotype and what can actually happen.
