Day 10 - A quote from ‘Finding Nemo’
Definitely that quote. It’s my favorite line in the whole film. I can’t say certainly what it is beyond the delivery. Poor Marlin seems so very confused when he says it. It’s like he really is conflicted with liking Dory, but not liking Dory. From a strictly platonic viewpoint, we know Marlin has always struggled with being anal so we can see it as the sudden character growth now that he’s out of his comfort zone and actually experiencing emotions again…emotions beyond just being overprotective and afraid. From a shipper’s viewpoint, you can view it as maybe he’s actually attracted to Dory and that’s what makes it complicated. So it’s a vague enough comment to be win/win :) Besides, this quote is pretty practical even outside of the movie. Everyone experiences complicated emotions from time to time lol. And as a bonus answer to a question not on this meme, the entire scene of Marlin trying to let Dory down easily and then the school of fish interfering is by far my favorite scene in the whole film. And one of my favorite Pixar scenes period.
