I wonder why a lot of people have so much sympathy for him!
Now, don’t get me wrong, I have sympathy for him myself! I mean, he is a lovely, wonderfully conflicted villain with a lot of emotional depth. When he just…almost relented when Shifu told him he was proud and that he was sorry…that was magnificent. Easily one of my favorite moments in the movie.
But when I see a lot of people saying that he was better than Po, and that he should’ve won, and he deserved the dragon scroll, and that Po was a stupid panda…it just makes me go, what? XD
I mean…the…the Dragon Scroll was blank. XD I think a lot of people forget that. If Tai Lung had been given it from the get-go…I think he might’ve been pissed off. Much as I like him, he is kind of a brat; he probably would’ve thrown a temper-tantrum! Po was the only one capable of understanding the scroll’s wisdom. And even then he needed a little help from his adoptive father.
I dunno! People can and will like him as much as they want. I…just think the scroll wouldn’t have gone over too well with him. XD
At first I was like “well” on the first line; then I read it all, and agreed.

YES.

AH HA, NO. Po is awesome! He should not be dismissed. And…such a sentiment seems to miss the whole point of the movie?
Tai Lung was just ticked off by the idea that all his effort had been for nothing…something he probably would’ve thought if he received the scroll and realized it was blank and had nothing like he expected/worked for. So, yeah, he would’ve been ticked in that situation too.
Still wish for Tai Lung redemption in a later movie though. If they got me believing Shen could be redeemed, a villain even more morally heinous than Tai Lung, then Tai Lung can/should get redemption.
