Well, I liked it.

Basically my overall thoughts on this episode and plot arc. Objectively, it was an incredibly interesting idea that wasn’t executed as well as it should have been. But I knew last night’s episode was going to have a quick, neat conclusion back when we found out that it was a three-parter.
When I saw “One Shall Rise Pt. 3,” I hoped Orion would be around for at least half a season (preferably a whole one). I assumed the reason they took Optimus out of the picture without killing him was so Arcee could get some real leadership practice, but Ratchet naturally took that role. (Now I’m worrying again about Ratchet dying…)
Anyway, the bottom line is that this was an ambitious idea to tackle in only three episodes, but given that that’s what happened, I think Part 3 was a pretty solid conclusion. And it’s always possible that some details from these first few episodes will play even bigger roles in future ones, like Megatron’s Dark Energon did in Season 1.
