As an animation student, we are trained to make characters react to others in such a way. You don’t just simply draw someone running to check on someone, you have to put emotions behind it. thinking, what is their bond? Do they respect each other? maybe they have a reason to be especially concerned for their fallen comrade… so when i see things like this…
It shows to me that the animators in TFP put a lot of emotion into these robots. the way Arcee leans into bulkhead tells me the animator intended her to be concerned for his well being, WHILE stating that there was possibly something laying behind it. No i’m not saying they made Arcee and Bulkhead want to kiss there out on the battlefield, but i think the fans of this have noticed it fully… wouldn’t you say?
Its not just with pairings. You need to think about how a character moves. they don’t just simply walk across the room. there walk should contain as much personality as possible.
Now there is a clear difference between Megatrons walk, bulky, heavy gate strutting his shoulders, and then there is the intimidation to how he holds his head up high with the confidence only a leader could
Compare this to star screams “leader” walk. his head is held up high, but he glides giving his gentle figure and the walk to me seems almost feminine. His leader walk to me anyway reflects in experience. his normal walk (in the presence of Megatron) is fearful, closed in and he keeps his gaze down
alright i have ranted enough about how much i love and admire the animation put into this show. I hope any of the team reading this understands i love and appreciate their hard work. <3
thanks to anyone who read this much
TL;DR ranted about how emotions are in everything the characters do.TFP animators, I am your bitch<3
Forever love the animation in this show.
The scene in the above GIF struck me too. It’s just so well animated, it’s so expressive, Arcee’s extreme concern is perfectly clear. (And her voice actor, felt a slight chill when she screamed Bulkhead’s name.)
