weasleytook replied to your postI don’t HATE Snape. I find him to be an interesting character. But I do not think he’s a good person. Or some sort of perfect hero woobie that fandom wants him to be.I’m the first kid who will say that Snape is a douchebag. He’s mean and terrible and awful and makes the wrong choices. But I also can’t stand how everyone puts James on this pedestal, like he also wasn’t sometimes a douchebag and sometimes made wrong choices, like the fact that he saved Snape’s life redeemed him for everything. Using the same logic, then wouldn’t Snape’s work for the Order redeem him for everything too? I just don’t like it that, five days out from the movie, everyone goes back to trying to fit everyone into these neat little boxes of black and white, right and wrong, good and bad when half the lessons in Harry Potter are that we all have a little good and evil inside of us and that it’s our choices that define us. I’m not saying you in particular, but all I’ve seen today is SNAPE’S A BAD MAN HOW COULD ANYONE LIKE HIM? posts and I’m just in the corner like, “I’m going to have the leave the internet.”
