Alright so AMON CAN ENERGYBEND WHOA SNAP SHIT’S GETTIN’ SERIOUS HERE

I’ve noticed some people are speculating why he would lead an anti-bending revolution if he IS a bender, but I’m not so sure that he is. Remember what the Lion Turtle told Aang? “In the era before the Avatar, we bent not the elements, but the energy within ourselves.”

So, to me, this is explaining that Energybending was a completely different art that came before elemental bending. Energybending was the manipulation of chi internally. Bending is when that same energy is projected outward to control the elements. I think that perhaps anyone, bender or no, is capable of performing energybending, seeing as all humans contain chi. There were multiple instances in the ATLA series that it was implied/said that every living organism is filled with one type of energy. I think it just all depends on whether or not the person is aware of Energybending (like how Aang didn’t know until the Lion Turtle said ‘HEY BRO CHECK THIS OUT’) and if they are spiritually capable of doing so.

I dunno, I’m rambling at this point. TELL ME YOUR THOUGHTS, PEOPLE. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF AMON’S ENERGYBENDING ABILITIES?
