one thing i really love about amon is that he’s such a realistic villain. there have been people EXACTLY like him in history, and i imagine that this anti-bending rebellion was based on the communist revolutions that occurred throughout the 20th century (particularly the one in china, i would think). also, his ideas are ones that people would believe if they felt oppressed (which, judging by the first episode, seems to be a common belief in republic city). he’s able to manipulate people into believing that the world would be a better place without benders because they make society unequal, and who doesn’t want equality, right? i think he has the potential to be a way better antagonist than ozai because of this.
