SO, I was looking at my AMAZING botcon G2 Botcon Breakdown toy and I was thinking about how utterly embarrassed Breakdown would be for KO to find out what his paint job had looked like in the 80’s!

No clue. TFP is notoriously bad at telling us anything World Buildy.
Technically, the ‘Bots and ‘Cons of TFP have been on earth for thousands of years. Earth was seeded with Energon long ago, big battles were fought there, and ancient warriors were buried in stasis there. As for in the story proper, Team Megatron and Team Optimus have been kicking around for roughly two years.
