Rooting for Kung Fu Panda 2 getting the Oscar!

COME ON COME ON COME ON! I NEED THIS TO BE DREAMWORKS’ YEAR! AND I NEED THIS MOVIE TO WIN AND NOT PUSS IN BOOTS (NO OFFENSE TO THAT MOVIE). PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!
I tend not to make a big deal out of Oscar noms/wins (it all comes down to opinion at the end of the day, and many of my favourite films never won awards), but I’d love it if KFP2 won, simply because I really feel it was an amazing film, both in storytelling and animation.
Me neither tbh. As much as I was rooting for KFP 2, I knew it would take a miracle for the Academy to give it the award over Rango. The Academy is too predictable. I’m almost always right with my predictions. That said, I am at least glad it got nominated. It was an amazing film in both regards. It had humor and heart. But, let’s face it. DreamWorks probably won’t get another win ever :/ There’s just too much bias there. They get nominated, I think, based on need for the category, but they never win. This year was their greatest chance due to Pixar being out of contention, but the reason Pixar was out was because critics panned Cars 2. And what was one of the leading criticisms? Too much like DreamWorks. So if a film from an acclaimed company being criticized as too similar to DreamWorks is snubbed, there really isn’t much hope for actual DreamWorks films. I also find it even more ironic that Rango was produced by Nickelodeon in hopes that they will be able to compete with their own animated films against DreamWorks should DreamWorks take its distribution rights else where when their contract ends later this year.
