…I saw “Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes” today.

It was beautifully disturbing.

Hardcore, I watched that movie with a fresh mind on the Planet of the Apes franchise and I walked away disgusted, mesmerized, unusually powerful, knowingly weak, and a tad bit hopeful. The acting from our human characters was really good. James Franco can solidify his place anywhere when he wants to. And it was really nice seeing Tom Felton in normal clothes without a wand in his hand and a Death Eater tattoo on his forearm. The visual effects were nothing short of amazing and the apes blended almost seamlessly with the real world. Great writing and an amazing plot that makes you wonder whose side you’re really rooting for. Are you hopeful for the apes or for our human race? Or are you so caught in the middle because you realize that we’re not that far apart in the evolutionary timeline? I’m expecting a powerful sequel that will bring the same feelings I felt for the two hours I sat in the theatre today. Much better than Tim Burton’s failed remake.
